The story
What happened to the ones before us? Before all the Pride marches? We can only assume that many got into heterosexual ways of living, as these seemed to be the only options. Maybe some of them left Romania. Others might have stayed and organized. How did queer Romanian women* meet before and during the 90’s? What were their struggles, how would they cope with the constant threat from the society, oppressive systems and laws? This is the story we aim to unravel, the starting point of our quest, deeply connected with how anti-gender movements developed in the last decades in the SEE and European spaces.
